Blogmas Day 9

This is a true representation of what had happened to me recently. I started blogmas with all of these ideas and such but as the past 9 days have gone by, I've slowly been losing my creativity and imagination. Hence today's Blogmas.

start of with your guide lines, I pressed a little too hard on my pencil which resulted in darker and heavier lines than usual which really were a little more difficult to erase later on.

Spell out your chosen word in your chosen font, make it look good to yourself and chance if necessary. seems like I was toon heavy handed with the pencil here too.

I ended up fine lining this word twice on this occasion for 2 seperated reasons in 2 different fine liners. 1. The first new fine liner is half the thickness of my usual one and 2. when you erase the pencil from beneath said fine liner, it smudges in every direction.

Erase your guide lines, I mean clearly you no longer need them. Tada you have a word which should be surrounded by things it creates but today it created this. I thought I'd just show you.

Blogmas Day 7

I experimented with placement on this one and also different sizes so it's a little bit trickier doing the guide lines when you do that.

I drew and wrote in pencil and I was a little concerned that it wasn't going to look nice once it was done due to the difference between the fonts I used.

I outlined the 3d letters and wrote the thin ones and I got a little happier with how it looked.

I then filled in the gaps (but one I've only just realised) and I was more than happy now it had worked out. I let the pen dry for a few seconds and then rub out the lines.

Blogmas Day 6

Use your pencil very lightly when drawing       your guideline. I still struggle doing it                                         right 😂

Hopefully you've chosen your font before drawing your lines so you can get right to experimenting with placement of your letters.

I used a fine liner and traced over everything but I didn't colour in the spaces yet.

Using the same pen I then filled in the           spaces and erased the guide lines after.

Blogmas Day 5

This one is for you papa

                            Guide yourself.

Sketch out your word and in my case do it                                    like 3 times.

Fine line those punks and that's it's really                 besides erasing the pencil marks.

Blogmas Day 4

Always important to have your guide lines right?

Draw out each letter in pencil and make sure they turn out like you want them to.

Then using a fine miner, draw over the pencil and then run a rubber over it leaving you with a nice black pen line rather than 2 lines, one pencil one pen. Then simply erase the guide lines.

Blogmas Day 1

So its begun Blogmas is finally here! I'm doing it all so different this year, instead of a Christmas related blog post each day, I will be posting a blog post each day which shows you the process of me drawing/writing either a specific thing about that day or a Christmas theme in a font.

What is todays? lest start off simple with a Blogmas font drawing.

I begun by simply choosing my position for the word and drew light guidelines in pencil.

I then drew, erased and re drew my font letters a few times until I felt like they were at their best.

I then went over the letters in a black fine liner and used the same pen to fill in each of the letters before adding a small present.
Fun Fact: I originally planned on drawing Christmas lights handing from each letter but there were already so many swirls and curls

To finish off the piece of the day, I coloured the present in a light shade of red as well as two shades of blue.
