The Dean Machine - Dylan Lee Peters

Title: The Dean Machine
Author: Dylan Lee Peters

Synopsis:
Meet Dan Delecaor, an utterly boring citizen of Yellow City. Every day he puts on his yellow shoes, yellow shirt, yellow pabts, and yellow tie, and catches a ride on the Tunnel Runner from the suburbs into downtown. He has a job, and a girlfriend,  and he never wonders what waits beyond the giant glass wall that surrounds Yellow City.
Except... Dan isnt as boring as he seems. He often wonders why everything in yellow city has to be yellow. He wonders why he suffers frequent axienty attacks, and why he cant help himself from strolling through dangerous neighbourhoods,  or running wildly through the filed that seperate downtown from the suburbs. Mostly though, Dan wonders why he cant remember how he lost his right arm, or anything that happened before 5 years ago.
So, when Dands mundane yellow world is interupted with thr seemingly impossible presence of a little red dog named Dean, he quickly finds out there are asnwers to his questions, and that everything he knows is a lie.
Follow Dan as he learns the secrets of his true identity, the scope of the world beyond the wall, and the true intentions of Yellow City's mysterious leader, Chancellor Elgrey Vinsidlan. Meet Wendy, the 12 year old girl on a rescue mission, Echo Valkzdokker, the woman with a love for danger, James Perkins, the wily pilot who has a way with words, and Bianna Kensington, the cold mannered rebel with a cause. Look through the cracks in this new world with Dan as he learns why his little friend is named The Dean Machine, what special bond they share, and whycthe dog deserved a legacy that should live on forever.

Review.

Dlyan originally made contacted me through my review policy, he told me all about the book and it was enough to make me feel the very large need to read it. Once all of my planned books were read, this book was next and it took me 2 days to read it. I must admit I didnt think it would effect me as much as it did by the end. As the review goes on youll understand why.
So Dan is the main character throughout the book, we start off by witnessing Dan walk through crowds of Yellow City and get to and appointment he didnt want to attend. It gives off more questions than answers and through the next few chapters we see his life, and how he deals with it but then the little red dog named Dean works his way into the picture which leaves Dan thinking hes going insane.
An event occurs leaving Dean, Dan and now Wendy on the other side of Yellow City, learning how to adapt to a place he's never been Dan is left exhausted leading to several near misses. He has a lot of questions to ask young Wendy but it was never the right time to answer them. After a very thrilling even occurs the three are split up, Wendy and Dean one place, Dan another much like before they met butt his time Dan is in a lot of danger. Without spoiling it, he suffers a lot at the hands of his captor, which left me in tears.
Elsewhere Wendy and Dean are re united with Echo who later lead a mission with James to help and save Dan. Throughout the swaps of storylines (between the two groups until united) questions are answered, both shocking and unbelievable. The Book is a lot more than you think, depending on who you are, you may not see it all but underneath all of the words, is a heart wrenching lesson that is learnt after going on this spectacular journey with the small group.
Not only this by to Dylan, who has suffered the loss of his four legged friend as a result of abuse he had suffered before being rehomed. Your work has taken such a hold on me and I will forever remember what I have experience and learned. Not even like that is the end of what I want to say but by donating a portion of your royalties from the book to charities that will help benefit animals who have suffered abuse I send out a hug to you and hope that Dean's legacy will live on.
I rate this book 5/5 and recommend it to anyone who has a dog, wants a dog, just wants to read a book. In honestly I recommend to anyone with a beating heart.
