The Dean Machine - Dylan Lee Peters

Title: The Dean Machine
Author: Dylan Lee Peters

Synopsis:
Meet Dan Delecaor, an utterly boring citizen of Yellow City. Except... Dan isnt as boring as he seems. He often wonders why everything in yellow city has to be yellow. He wonders why he suffers frequent axienty attacks, and why he cant help himself from strolling through dangerous neighbourhoods,  or running wildly through the filed that seperate downtown from the suburbs. Mostly though, Dan wonders why he cant remember how he lost his right arm, or anything that happened before 5 years ago.
So, when Dands mundane yellow world is interupted with thr seemingly impossible presence of a little red dog named Dean, he quickly finds out there are asnwers to his questions, and that everything he knows is a lie.
Follow Dan as he learns the secrets of his true identity, the scope of the world beyond the wall, and the true intentions of Yellow City's mysterious leader, Chancellor Elgrey Vinsidlan. Meet Wendy, the 12 year old girl on a rescue mission, Echo Valkzdokker, the woman with a love for danger, James Perkins, the wily pilot who has a way with words, and Bianna Kensington, the cold mannered rebel with a cause. Look through the cracks in this new world with Dan as he learns why his little friend is named The Dean Machine, what special bond they share, and whycthe dog deserved a legacy that should live on forever.

HIS HEART IS A MACHINE
Review.

Dlyan originally made contacted me through my review policy, he told me all about the book and it was enough to make me feel the very large need to read it. Once all of my planned books were read, this book was next and it took me 2 days to read it. I must admit I didnt think it would effect me as much as it did by the end. As the review goes on youll understand why.
So Dan is the main character throughout the book, we start off by witnessing Dan walk through crowds of Yellow City and get to and appointment he didnt want to attend. It gives off more questions than answers and through the next few chapters we see his life, and how he deals with it but then the little red dog named Dean works his way into the picture which leaves Dan thinking hes going insane.
An event occurs leaving Dean, Dan and now Wendy on the other side of Yellow City, learning how to adapt to a place he's never been Dan is left exhausted leading to several near misses. He has a lot of questions to ask young Wendy but it was never the right time to answer them. After a very thrilling even occurs the three are split up, Wendy and Dean one place, Dan another much like before they met butt his time Dan is in a lot of danger. Without spoiling it, he suffers a lot at the hands of his captor, which left me in tears.
Elsewhere Wendy and Dean are re united with Echo who later lead a mission with James to help and save Dan. Throughout the swaps of storylines (between the two groups until united) questions are answered, both shocking and unbelievable. The Book is a lot more than you think, depending on who you are, you may not see it all but underneath all of the words, is a heart wrenching lesson that is learnt after going on this spectacular journey with the small group.
Not only this by to Dylan, who has suffered the loss of his four legged friend as a result of abuse he had suffered before being rehomed. Your work has taken such a hold on me and I will forever remember what I have experience and learned. Not even like that is the end of what I want to say but by donating a portion of your royalties from the book to charities that will help benefit animals who have suffered abuse I send out a hug to you and hope that Dean's legacy will live on.
I rate this book 5/5 and recommend it to anyone who has a dog, wants a dog, just wants to read a book. In honestly I recommend to anyone with a beating heart.

Positive Headlie - Lost Sloth

Transport officials in Ecuador were tasked with an unusual mission last week: to rescue an apparently lost and clearly adorable sloth who had tried to cross the cities road but had in the process gotten trapped in the middle of it.

According to a Jan. 22 Facebook post by Ecuador’s transport commission, the lost sloth was discovered clinging to a guard rail in the city of Quevedo.

The sloth had somehow made it halfway across the street when it decided to take a break, but don't worry, the transport officials said on Facebook that they did rescue the cloth and took it to the veterinarian where it was given a clean bill of health and then was returned to the wild.

Dead To The World - Charlaine Harris.

Dead To The World is book number 4 in the True Blood series  which is now a very well known TV series. In this book we see Bill and Sookie being civil with each other after all of the happenings of the last book which lead to their parting. Bill goes to Peru, letting Sookie know of this leaves her thinking about him every now and then.

But after a long New Years Eve party at Merlots, Sookie is driving home when she finds a half naked Eric Northman running down the road. It soon comes to her attention he has no memory and is in huge danger. Sookie being Sookie takes him home and cares for him, but a day later when Pam and Chow turn up Jason Stackhouse bargains for payment for his sisters service and within 24 hours goes missing. Sending Sookie into a panic over her missing brother, finds a distraction in the new Eric.

This is also a book where yet another kind is bought into the world of Sookie Stackhouse, Witches who happen to be Werewolves. Eric has been cursed by Hallow who wants him for her own and offers a reward for any tip leading to his capture by her. Whilst he sleeps she makes enquiries in Hotshot, where the girl Jason was seen celebrating new years with, proves fruitless, though she is courted by Calvin Norris, the leader in the area. Sookie then travels to Shreveport to meet with Alcide Herveaux, the Were who helped her when she was looking for Bill.

Without giving away too much of the plot, the book is action packed and very brilliant to read. I always see myself there, joining in with Sookie, minus the sexual moments but always with her through each lonely moment and action packed one. Seeing the venerable side of Eric added to the emotional feel of the book, it was great to see, to see him completely unprotected. He cared for Sookie no matter what.

I must admit that this book entertained me more than I was expecting. What will shock most people is that I liked not seeing a lot of Bill in this book, it kind of switched the focus a little bit and added some variation where he wasn't always there. The books speeds along very nicely and its easy to keep up with what is happing. It introduces us to new characters and experiences.

It is a great read, full of action and humour and very easy to get into, I give it 5/5 like its previous books and recommend it to all the same people. Even if the books don't seem to be your thing, maybe give the TV series a shot.

Dead As A Doorbell with be the next Charlaine Harris book I will review here on the blog.

Sharing Some Of My Work With You.

I've always wanted to share my work with other people and so I thought that today I would do exactly that. I've been working on a little things and I wanted to post two small parts of what I've written to get some feedback. I would love it if you could read each of them and give me your thought and feedback in the comments?

The pieces are not in order of how I've originally written them and I cant say they're perfect but I guess that's the whole point of feedback right?

She drops her legs down from her chest and opens her eyes finding that she's not shaking like she was before, everything else was. Vibrations travelled through her feet and up her legs, and they stop at her knees and hips so her upper half doesn’t move much but she could still feel them. Inhaling deep, a wave of panic grows in her stomach when after the silence she hears creaking, muffled bangs and groans.

“Jake.” She calls to him, shaking his sleeping body hard, he doesn’t budge at first but the second time around he groans, his eyes opening slowly.

“We need to get out right now.” She alerts him, feeling the vibrations strengthen, the smashing and groans growing louder like it was right beneath them.

Jake is fully awake when he hears a large grumble from their left and the fear in his eyes registers and by the time he’s off the sofa and Jennifer has her phone in hand, he’s holding tightly to her free hand and rushing out of the house and down the path not looking behind until they reach the road where the traffic was thankfully non-existent.

The inquisitive side of Jennifer got the better of her and led her to getting changed into a pair of black skinny jeans and a white tank top and black shoes. Throwing her pyjamas onto the floor as she'll pick them back up later. Running down the stairs she quickly opens the door and steps out, shutting it after herself.

The air was cold, raising goose bumps on her fair skin. Folding her arms across herself and rubbing at the skin trying to rid herself of the bumps as she walks down the path looking through the traffic for anyone watching her. Luckily no one was, and the traffic was below a steady flow, so crossing the road was easier than usual. Looking around again Jennifer checks for peering eyes but getting the all clear again, she crouches below the yellow police tape and takes a step.

Club Dead - Charlaine Harris

Club Dead by Charlaine Harris

*I MUST SAY THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SMALL SPOILERS IN ORDER TO WRITE AN UNDERSTANDABLE REVIEW.*

Club Dead is the third book in the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. Early on in the book Sookie realises that Bill is distant with her, spending more time on the computer than alone with her investing himself in their relationship. He drops a bombshell that he's going away for a while and then pushes Sookie away further. Once Bill is gone Sookie goes on with her life, before Bill is kidnapped and to find him it requires Sookie to once again dive into the other half of her life that has only existed since she dated Bill, the life threatening, extreme side of her life.

Throughout the book Sookie seems to of matured and become more intelligent and more efficient with her telepathy and seems to know more ways of using to help her in situations she's in. Alongside Sookie we get to experience the heartache she suffers from being away from Bill and now introduced to a werewolf who is trusted to keep her safe.

In the story we learn more about the Vampire world and the world of Werewolves and shifters as Sookie travels with a Werewolf named Alcide to Mississippi to find Bill who is in danger. Of course, Sookie is having to enter dangerous waters as it is most likely that the Vampire King of Missippi that has Bill. Louisana vampires cannot help as they are tied with the Vampire Queen of Lousiana and a war would break out.

There is a large amount of sexual tension throughout the book, Sookie lusts for Bill but finds herself attracted to Alcide and his animal magnetism, and even then she shows signs of being attracted to the good old boss of Bill, Eric.

I love how Charlaine managed to create such a bond between both a telepathic human and a werewolf and bring both worlds together whilst working together to save a man from a separate kind. I have to admit this book was a little more intense than the others so far, it seemed to be more action packed and at parts I'd be hit in the face by surprise.

Once again I have to award the book a 5/5 so far the series has been a great one and for all three so far to of scored 5/5 each time is a great start. I recommend this series to anyone who's into vampires and such kinds.

Dead To The World is the 4th book in the series and it will also be the next review on this blog. I hope you'll come back to visit.

Postive Headline - Japanese Railway for 1

good news 2016

The story of  Kami-Shirataki Station in northern Japan is a touching one. It was seen as remote and unusable after a very few number of passengers boarded and got off there. It has always been on Japans Railway list to go.

But despite being seen as unusable, two trains make a stop at this station each day. One at 7am to pick up and at 5pm to drop off a single student who without these trains would not be able to get to school.

The area around Kami-Shirataki Station have lost 20 rail lines in the past years and it will not be long until this line becomes another. The student will finish her education in March and the line that made sure she would get that education will close down for good.
